We are located at 2067 Greenwood Road, just 5 minutes from downtown Pembroke. We offer, boarding, training, and also have horses and equipment for sale.

About Us

Greenwood Stables, a family owned and operated business, offers a peaceful and friendly environment for all of your horsey needs. This charming farm is located 5 minutes East of Pembroke, Ontario next to miles of scenic bush trails. The farm itself is over 120 years old, and was originally used as a dairy farm by two generations of the Jackson family. In 2002 the farm was purchased by Gerry and Louise Johnston, who renovated the grounds to accommodate horses, as well as upgraded the fencing and built additional paddocks on the property. A large bright indoor riding arena was added in December of 2005. At present, the Johnston family is hard at work keeping the farm updated and safe!

Our Love of Horses

You might be, at this point, wondering who we are exactly. Well, the answer to that is quite simple: we are horse lovers! The reason for our adoration of these wonderful creatures is hard to put our finger on. Maybe we love them because of their grace, or their beauty, or their incredible versatility. Maybe we love them because of their amazing ability to teach us about responsibility, overcoming fear, relating to others, and a million other important things. Or maybe, just maybe, we were born with a “horse bug” that makes us happier cleaning out a stall than cleaning our house! Regardless of the reasons why however, because of our immense love for these animals we decided to create a place where horses, ponies, and their humans could come together to share experiences, to learn, to grow, and most of all, to have fun!

What We Offer

Greenwood Stables is a safe and accepting environment for riders of all disciplines and skill levels. English, Western, trail riding; whether you are a beginner or a seasoned rider: no matter what your equine flavour, this is the place for you!

Our arena is available for lease - by the day or longer. We love to help make things happen, so please feel free to contact us and we will do our very best to help you out!

Facilities

-Well-lit indoor arena, for year round lessons, training, riding or jumping

-Field set up with jumps

-Other fields are available for conditioning or a relaxing ride

-Our barn has clean, roomy box stalls, a wide aisle with quick release ties, feed room, tack room, and a heated pump room.

Boarding

~ All pastures are equipped with run-in sheds and automatic waterers

Outdoor boarding includes full use of indoor arena and hayfields for hacking or conditioning. Each boarder would have their own tack locker.

Boarders may bring in their own coach.
